Intern Details Shambhavi Mishra Name of the Advocate Advocate Navin Kumar Jaggi Duration July, 2015 My Internship Experience Hello my fellow enthusiastic lawyers, I would like to share my experience at Jaggi Jaggi & Jaggi, Attorneys at Law, Supreme Court of India, a Law Firm at New Delhi. I had the good fortune to intern with Mr. Navin Kumar Jaggi in the month of July, 2015. There were four Interns with me at that time, two of the Interns were from Fairfield Institute of Management and Technology, and two of us from the Law Centre 1, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. I first met Mr. Jaggi at the 5th National Moot Court Competition at the Geeta Institute of Law, Panipat in the month of March, in the year 2015, I had the great luck of winning the Best Researcher’s Award thereat, and while giving away the trophy Mr. Jaggi told me that he studied law at the same Law School, although I had already noted his name for his outstanding oration at the Competition, I looked up online for his information, so as to make my application for internship, which got approved instantaneously because Mr. Jaggi remembered our first encounter. Mr. Jaggi is married to Professor Veena Bakshi, just retired Professor-In-charge, Law Centre 1, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi; who taught Constitutional Law, International Law and Legal History for over four decades. Although I completed my Internship on July 31, 2015, yet I picked up the courage and fortitude to request Mr. Jaggi to allow me to come whenever my schedule in the Law Faculty was less heavy. I stand ingratiated to Mr. Jaggi to allow me the opportunity to attend the Chambers, even when the period of my Internship was over. This gave me an opportunity to master my skill in the art of Legal Draftsmanship. I won Mr. Jaggi’s confidence and he allowed me to assist him in the case of a Gentleman from England, whose case had been refused by over 1200 Lawyers from the United Kingdom and Europe. Our role in the matter was only to draft the Claim Petition of the Gentleman.  The Client was so satisfied with our work that he even offered to invite me on an expense paid trip to England, as a reward for our efforts. What I want to put in this narration of my experience at Jaggi Jaggi & Jaggi, under the mentorship of Mr. Jaggi himself, is the metamorphosis that I underwent in learning the art of Legal Draftsmanship. From a mere student I became confident to draft even the most complicated, onerous and different Petitions, Contracts and sundry Legal documents. Mr. Jaggi knows the Code of Civil Procedure (Act V of 1908) {often addressed as the CPC} by heart, and I and the other interns were mesmerized when he would just out of the blue tell us to read the particular Sections, Orders or Rules, whenever any client had any problem. Mr. Jaggi is extremely fastidious and […]
